FUTURECALC’S OWN MODEL
Meridian
A model that reads the drawing in four steps
Meridian is FutureCalc’s own model, trained on real VVS drawings. It does what an experienced estimator does by eye: tells pipes from walls, finds the designation that belongs to each run and measures. The difference is that it does it in minutes and shows what every row rests on.

- ANSWER
- METRES OR A REASON
FOUR STEPS
From drawing to quantity, one step at a time
- 01NOISE OUT
Preparation
The drawing is cleared of what is not installation: grids, hatching, dimension chains, text that does not belong to the pipes. What remains is what matters for the quantity.
- 02FIVE CLASSES
Detection
The model splits what remains into what an estimator sees: walls, pipes, joints, leaders and designations. Every object gets its class.
- 03PIPE ↔ DESIGNATION
Assignment
This is where decisions are made: which designation belongs to which pipe. The model follows the leader, not the nearest stroke. If it cannot decide, the run is marked ambiguous.
- 04METRES PER ROW
Measurement
Every run is measured in the drawing’s scale and summed per system, dimension and material. The result is a quantity list where every row can be opened and traced back to the drawing.
WHAT THE MODEL DOES NOT DO
An ambiguous answer is an answer. A guessed one is not.
- ✕
Guess which pipe a designation means when the drawing does not say. The row is marked ambiguous, with the reason.
- ✕
Take a quantity from an earlier project, a template or a filename. The drawing is the only source.
- ✕
Measure without scale. If it is missing the metres wait until the scale is confirmed.
- ✕
Silence what could not be read. What fell out is reported, sheet by sheet.
THE MODEL LEARNS
Every correction makes the next reading better
When you correct a row it is stored as a reference and the next reading of your drawings improves. Meridian keeps training on real corrections from real estimators, only from customers who have chosen to contribute, never on invented examples.
TRY IT
Take a sheet you have already taken off
The reading says what it found, what it could not decide, and why.
